24 Hour Festival

March 14 and 15 2026 
March 14 at 6:30pm prompts are given.

March 15 at 6:30 deadline to submit your work. 7pm public showing

Join visual artists, filmmakers, theatre artists, dancers, musicians, and poets as you race against a 24-hour clock to create unique works based on prompts. You will have exactly 24 hours to create your instant masterpiece. In partnership with FGCU Bower School of Music and the Arts.

THIS EVENT IS FREE! Viewing begins at 6:30pm. Showcase begins at 7pm.

This year's prompts:

 

Include these elements: a pocket, a tag, a bridge, a drone, a key, a groove, and a circle with the following: “6251according to the gospel”.
 
Complete this story: A broken swing rattled in tight time as the flag waver milked his box outside the backdoor bar down in Storyville. A ghost of a note moved by in contrary motion as eight did a rip to the bar thinking of a turnaround. Diminished, the flag waver said in his inner voice, “I’ll stretch out, maybe take a stroll, or lay back, and stop time.” But before he could move, he noticed a chord where it had not been…

Christina the Astonishing

An original work created by Ghostbird’s Producing Artistic Director, Barry Cavin. This immersive play brings the audience into the troubled world Christina as she navigates shifting realities during an approaching catastrophic storm. There will be some audience participation.
